English Worship 8.28

“We gather each week for Christian worship and fellowship, following a historic tradition that unites people of diverse backgrounds by the sharing of the Good News of Jesus Christ.”

We are glad you are here, from wherever you are – rejoicing in the hope of our Savior Jesus!

Below, please find our Sermon audio, bible readings and some songs. Set some time aside today if you are able, either alone or with some friends or family, and enter into an intentional time of worship with our God. May He bless you today and may you know that Jesus is always with you! 🙂

“The Ones who are Humbled Will Be Honored”

Can you be proud of how humble you act? Today in worship, Jesus calls us to a life of humility. It is only in looking to Jesus that our pride is undone and we acknowledge our true state. Jesus, who humbled himself, raises us to the highest of places!

Luke 14:1-14

【Luk 14:1】One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched.

【Luk 14:2】There in front of him was a man suffering from abnormal swelling of his body.

【Luk 14:3】Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”

【Luk 14:4】But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him on his way.

【Luk 14:5】Then he asked them, “If one of you has a child [ Some manuscripts donkey ] or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull it out?”

【Luk 14:6】And they had nothing to say.

【Luk 14:7】When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable:

【Luk 14:8】“When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited.

【Luk 14:9】If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place.

【Luk 14:10】But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests.

【Luk 14:11】For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

【Luk 14:12】Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.

【Luk 14:13】But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,

【Luk 14:14】and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Spend some time in prayer with our Heavenly Father. He asks us to pray, to talk with Him. Like a father and his child. Bring to Him your problems and your difficult situations. Bring to Him your hopes and desires. Praise Him and give Him thanks for all He’s done.

Share your life with Him,

because He loves you.

Go in peace and serve the Lord!
