English Worship 8.21

“We gather each week for Christian worship and fellowship, following a historic tradition that unites people of diverse backgrounds by the sharing of the Good News of Jesus Christ.”

We are glad you are here, from wherever you are – rejoicing in the hope of our Savior Jesus!

Below, please find our Sermon audio, bible readings and some songs. Set some time aside today if you are able, either alone or with some friends or family, and enter into an intentional time of worship with our God. May He bless you today and may you know that Jesus is always with you! 🙂

 “Strive! Luke 13:24”

Is it easy to connect to God? Today in worship we hear Jesus challenge us to focus on the important activities that help us value life and faith. Indeed, it is in worship that we find that God has come to connect with us!

 Bible Readings

Isaiah 66:18-23

【Isa 66:18】“And I, because of what they have planned and done, am about to come [ The meaning of the Hebrew for this clause is uncertain. ] and gather the people of all nations and languages, and they will come and see my glory.

【Isa 66:19】“I will set a sign among them, and I will send some of those who survive to the nations—to Tarshish, to the Libyans [ Some Septuagint manuscripts Put (Libyans); Hebrew Pul ] and Lydians (famous as archers), to Tubal and Greece, and to the distant islands that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will proclaim my glory among the nations.

【Isa 66:20】And they will bring all your people, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the Lord—on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels,” says the Lord. “They will bring them, as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the Lord in ceremonially clean vessels.

【Isa 66:21】And I will select some of them also to be priests and Levites,” says the Lord.

【Isa 66:22】“As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the Lord, “so will your name and descendants endure.

【Isa 66:23】From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the Lord.

Hebrews 12:4-24

【Heb 12:4】In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

【Heb 12:5】And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,

【Heb 12:6】because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” [ Prov. 3:11,12 (see Septuagint) ]

【Heb 12:7】Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?

【Heb 12:8】If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.

【Heb 12:9】Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live!

【Heb 12:10】They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.

【Heb 12:11】No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

【Heb 12:12】Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.

【Heb 12:13】“Make level paths for your feet,” [ Prov. 4:26 ] so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

【Heb 12:14】Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

【Heb 12:15】See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

【Heb 12:16】See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.

【Heb 12:17】Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done.

【Heb 12:18】You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm;

【Heb 12:19】to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,

【Heb 12:20】because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.” [ Exodus 19:12,13 ]

【Heb 12:21】The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.” [ See Deut. 9:19. ]

【Heb 12:22】But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,

【Heb 12:23】to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,

【Heb 12:24】to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

Luke 13:22-30

【Luk 13:22】Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.

【Luk 13:23】Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them,

【Luk 13:24】“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

【Luk 13:25】Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

【Luk 13:26】“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’

【Luk 13:27】“But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’

【Luk 13:28】“There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.

【Luk 13:29】People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God.

【Luk 13:30】Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”

Spend some time in prayer with our Heavenly Father. He asks us to pray, to talk with Him. Like a father and his child. Bring to Him your problems and your difficult situations. Bring to Him your hopes and desires. Praise Him and give Him thanks for all He’s done.

Share your life with Him,

because He loves you.

Go in peace and serve the Lord!
