In-Person Gatherings Resume – English Worship 7.18

In-Person gatherings resume again today, July 18

English Worship Open this Sunday 7.18

Welcome to the season of Pentecost! This is the time where we remember when the Holy Spirit came down on the disciples with a rushing wind and what appeared as tongues of fire. His Spirit moved then and empowered them as His church to share His Gospel all across the world, and it continues to move within us as His church and empower us today.

We are glad you are here, from wherever you are – rejoicing in the hope of our Savior Jesus!

Below, please find our theme for the week, our bible readings, some songs, and a video-recorded sermon. Set some time aside today if you are able, either alone or with some friends or family, and enter into an intentional time of worship with our God. May He bless you today and may you know that Jesus is always with you! 🙂

“Just as a Shepherd Cares for His Sheep”

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.. In the same  way, our God looks on us today and has compassion. He sees the same difficulties and needs that we see, and even the ones we can’t see, and he responds in a way that only God can.

Bible Readings

Jeremiah 23:1-6

1″Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the LORD. 2Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done,” declares the LORD. 3″I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. 4I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the LORD.

5″The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “

when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch,

a King who will reign wisely

and do what is just and right in the land.

6In his days Judah will be saved

and Israel will live in safety.

This is the name by which he will be called:

The LORD Our Righteousness.

Mark 6:30-44

30The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

32So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. 33But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. 34When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

35By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. “This is a remote place,” they said, “and it’s already very late. 36Send the people away so they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.”

37But he answered, “You give them something to eat.”

They said to him, “That would take eight months of a man’s wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?”

38″How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Go and see.”

When they found out, they said, “Five–and two fish.”

39Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. 41Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42They all ate and were satisfied, 43and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. 44The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.

Prayer

Spend some time in prayer with our Heavenly Father. He asks us to pray, to talk with Him. Like a father and his child. Bring to Him your problems and your difficult situations. Bring to him your hopes and desires. Praise him and give him thanks for all He’s done. Share your life with him, because He loves you.

Go in peace and serve the Lord!
