English Worship 5.9

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!

We share the same invitation with you as last week, that is to come and celebrate with us today! Jesus is Alive!

The Easter holiday was now five weeks ago on Sunday, but we continue to live on in the Easter season and the echo of the empty tomb. Our lives have forever been changed because of what happened on this day!

If you are not in Shenzhen, are unable to join us, or would like to look ahead/back at our service today, this is the place for you.

We are glad you are here, from wherever you are – rejoicing in the hope of our Savior Jesus!

1 John: “We love because He first loved Us.”
“Living with the Victory in Christ”

There is victory in the name of Jesus! He has made us His friends and welcomed us onto His team. We may not always feel like winners. In fact, you may more often feel like a loser. Guilt, shame, and the weight of expectations.. These are all things that draw us inward to ourselves. We are invited today to turn our eyes away from ourselves, and instead to look to Christ and His victory. He has overcome the world!

Bible Readings

1 John 5:1-8

1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

6 This is the one who came by water and blood–Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7For there are three that testify: 8the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

John 15: 9-17

9″As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.

Prayer

Spend some time in prayer with our Heavenly Father. He asks us to pray, to talk with Him. Like a father and his child. Bring to Him your problems and your difficult situations. Bring to him your hopes and desires. Praise him and give him thanks for all He’s done. Share your life with him, because He loves you.

Go in peace and serve the Lord!
