Easter Sunday 2021

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!

Come and celebrate with us today! Jesus is Alive!

If you are not in Shenzhen, are unable to join us, or would like to look ahead/back at our service today, this is the place for you.

We are glad you are here, from wherever you are – rejoicing in the hope of our Savior Jesus!

“God Knows What We Need”

Put simply, we are lost without God. We wander and we search, but

nothing else can provide what we truly need. God alone has defeated

death. He has given us the victory! He is the only one who truly knows us,

and he is the only one who truly knows what we need. He meets us in the

middle of our lives, and He changes everything. When this risen Jesus calls

us by name, nothing will ever be the same.

Bible Readings

Isaiah 25:6-9

6On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare

a feast of rich food for all peoples,

a banquet of aged wine—

the best of meats and the finest of wines.

7On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples,

the sheet that covers all nations;

8he will swallow up death forever.

The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces;

he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth.

The LORD has spoken.

9In that day they will say,

“Surely this is our God;

we trusted in him, and he saved us.

This is the LORD, we trusted in him;

let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

1 Corinthians 15:50-58

50I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the

kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be

changed– 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.

For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and

we will be changed. 53For the perishable must clothe itself with the

imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54When the perishable

has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with

immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has

been swallowed up in victory.”

55″Where, O death, is your victory?

Where, O death, is your sting?”

56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks

be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.

Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know

that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

John 20:1-18

1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary

Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been

removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and

the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the

Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

3So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. 4Both were

running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb

first. 5He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but

did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and

went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, 7as well as

the burial cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. The cloth was

folded up by itself, separate from the linen. 8Finally the other disciple,

who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and

believed. 9(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had

to rise from the dead.)

10Then the disciples went back to their homes, 11but Mary stood

outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the

tomb12and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been,

one at the head and the other at the foot.

13They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my

Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” 14At

this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not

realize that it was Jesus.

15″Woman,” he said, “why are you crying? Who is it you are looking

for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried

him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”

16Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in

Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher).

17Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the

Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am returning to my

Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'”

18Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen

the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Prayer

Spend some time in prayer with our Heavenly Father. He asks us to pray, to talk with Him. Like a father and his child. Bring to Him your problems and your difficult situations. Bring to him your hopes and desires. Praise him and give him thanks for all He’s done. Share your life with him, because He loves you.

Go in peace and serve the Lord!
